Why export at 4.5p and import at 13p To generate electricity and send it back to the grid to then buy it back at 3 times the price is madness.
Better to generate it, divert it, use it and then still get paid an export rate even though you don’t export. This is all possible because unless you have a smart meter nobody knows what you are exporting so it is just deemed to be 50 percent of everything you generate.
