We installed a ground source heat pump, underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs in this 3-bed new build, holiday let. Two boreholes were recommended for this property’s ground array.

Dr Brooke was originally considering installing the heat pump outside in the adjacent garage but after some discussions we suggested it was better inside. This was mainly to avoid loss of heat through long pipe runs from the garage to the property itself. Having the integrated cylinder and heat pump unit inside creates better heat productivity; providing the much needed comfort for this home and it eradicates the potential delays on hot water and the heating system.

We laid a soundproof mat in the cupboard to prevent reverberations onto the floor and reduce noise disturbance. We went back after a year from installation and Dr Brooke told Harvest Cornwall that he has never had any noise complaints.

It took us two weeks to install the ground source heat pump, including connecting and installing the underfloor heating and radiator systems.
