Solar panels (PV) have this year overtaken wind turbine capacity worldwide.
With 36.7 GW against 35.5 GW, solar PV is set to pave the way as the renewable energy for the future.The market grows stronger as India aims to get its larger industrial companies to source at least 10% of its energy from renewables. Russia, the worlds largest oil producer, is also pushing renewable energy in an attempt to be less reliant on fossil fuels. Russia has offered government support to 39 renewable ventures in their country and aims to make 2.5% of Russias power output come from renewables by 2020.
